Frequently Asked Questions

Who can submit an obituary?

You need an account and permission to submit the obituary and any photograph. Obituaries must be in English.

What does it cost?

You pay a review fee when you submit. Publication is charged only after approval. Choose monthly, annual, or lifetime publication. View pricing.

When will the obituary be published?

Submissions are normally reviewed within two business days. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Publication follows approval and successful payment.

Can I include a photograph?

Yes. One photograph is optional and must show only the deceased. Upload a JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or HEIF file up to 20 MB.

Who can see a published obituary?

Anyone can read, share, and print it. Published obituaries may appear in search results.

Can I change an obituary after publication?

Use Request an amendment in your dashboard. Customer-requested changes, including minor corrections, require a separate review fee. The published version stays unchanged until approval.

For name or date changes, an error we caused, or an urgent privacy or safety concern, contact support. Errors we caused and urgent privacy, safety, or legal corrections have no amendment fee.

Do publication plans renew automatically?

Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until canceled. Lifetime publication has one publication payment and no renewals; future amendments are charged separately.

What happens if I cancel?

Choose Cancel at end of term to stop renewal and keep the obituary public until the paid term ends. Archive now removes it immediately. Unused time is not refunded. Read the refund and cancellation policy.

Can I get the submission review fee back?

Return the submission to a Draft before review begins for a full review-fee refund. Once review begins, canceling or rejection does not refund the fee.

How do I report a problem?

Select Report this obituary on its page, or contact support for other questions.
